Mordheim City Of The Damned Releases On Steam Early Access This Month: New 10-Minute Gameplay Trailer Of Warhammer Board Game Adaptation

Need More Warhammer? Mordheim: City Of The Damned Goes Live On Early Access Later This Month

Maybe you've finished up the roughly 100 hours of content in Space Hulk: Ascension Edition. Or perhaps you're tirelessly plugging away at Space Wolf for mobile devices. Either way, it is clearly obvious that what you need in your life is another Warhammer game.

Space Hulk: Ascension Edition Out Now!

Well, then it is your lucky day indeed. Developer Rogue Factor has announced that their adaptation of the Games Workshop board game Mordheim: City of the Damned is about to hit Early Access on Steam this month. Players that participate in the Early Access will get a 20% discount off of the full release when it releases later.

Mordheim had a very limited run of print books. The rules-set was released in 1999 and was whittled down throughout the years by Games Workshop, which effectively ended the series after it removed all official download content (rule books, etc) earlier this year. Perhaps they were just waiting.

The game takes place in the gothic city of Mordheim some 500 years before the events of most of the fantasy Warhammer titles. It is an impressive looking turn-based strategy title. The current Early Access build features does not have the full roster of features and comes with:

TWO WARBANDS: with one preset roster each - The Human Mercenaries from the Empire and the Skaven from Clan Eshin
TWO PROCEDURAL MAPS AND TWO UNIQUE MAPS - the procedural maps have randomly generated elements meaning they will never be the same-
BATTLE FOR VICTORY: classic deathmatch with preset Warbands for single player and multiplayer
FOUR TUTORIALS to learn the core mechanics of the game

The final build of the game will feature four warbands, a wealth of new content and is hoping to be released in the first quarter of 2015.

A teaser trailer was released several weeks ago. Today, Rogue Factor released a ten minute walkthrough showcasing the care and attention to detail the company (self proclaimed Warhammer fans) has put into the title. Number junkies and strategy fans should take notice. This looks like it could be the real deal.

The Mordheim site is now live. Check it out for all the latest.

Head on over to the Steam Hub. Mordheim: City of the Damned goes live on Early Access soon!
