SteelSeries Stratus XL iOS Game Controller Now Available At Apple Retail Store Locations

The SteelSeries Stratus XL Lets You Play GTA On Your iPhone Without Fussing With Touch Controls

Game peripheral maker SteelSeries announced today that its larger iOS game controller, the SteelSeries Stratus XL, is now up for sale at Apple retail locations.

Clash Of Clans Is Balancing Enemies In An Upcoming Patch

The controller is able to pair with iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches via Bluetooth to provide mobile gamers with a comfortable and familiar gaming experience. This is especially useful for games that have been ported from other platforms to iOS, like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Limbo and Minecraft, but it can be used with any of the mobile games noted in SteelSeries' impressive library of Stratus-compatible games.

The Stratus XL allows gamers to ditch sometimes frustrating touch controls in favor of a controller design that should feel familiar, especially to Xbox players. The Stratus XL sports four face buttons, four shoulder buttons, a D-pad and two analog sticks to make sure mobile developers have plenty of assets to work with. The whole package lasts for an estimated 40 hours of gameplay, running on AA batteries.

Apple Names Its iOS Games Of The Year For iPhone And iPad

“We are excited for the advancements that Apple has brought to mobile gaming and we are doubling down our bet on its future with the introduction of the Stratus XL for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch,” SteelSeries CEO Ehtisham Rabbani said in a release.

The SteelSeries Stratus XL actually launched online for iOS devices back in November, but the controller can now be picked up at in-person Apple retail locations for $69.99.
