Blood Bowl 2 News: Warhammer Title Gets A New Trailer, Website & Release Date Window [VIDEO]
Speak the name 'Warhammer', and it shall appear. Did you think you were safe from various bits of Warhammer news? Oh, my sweet child, would only that the world be as you wish. But it is not, because there's a new bit of Blood Bowl 2 news out at last!
Cyanide Studio has launched a brand new website for the American football/Warhammer fantasy mashup title which is due out this spring for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The company also released the first of many trailers to come highlighting the various races and their ability sets that players can wield in the game.
First up is the well balanced and - we must admit - boring humans. I literally see humans every single day. They're good at everything, just not great at any one thing in particular. How wonderfully average. How does that make us feel?
"The Reikland Reavers perform some of the basic moves that make the core gameplay mechanics of a Blood Bowl match: running, passing, catching, blocking, blitzing. simple actions that take a whole new level when we take into consideration the game's 75 different skills that Blood Bowl players can innately have, or learn upon levelling up."
Blood Bowl II will feature eight races - Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, Bretonnia, Skavens, Dark Elves, High Elves and Chaos, all with their own unique playstyles and various strengths and weaknesses. The game has been redesigned and revamped with a brand new in-game engine and camera system that will capture all the bloody, gory action.
Players will be able to customize their own stadiums, jerseys and team makeups and will also feature a new story-driven campaign mode that I really, really hope is just a dramatic (and violent) retelling of The Replacements. Be careful playing, however: "on the pitch (haha, we don't call it that), all losses are permanent. Online, organize entirely customizable championships, from qualifications to finale, and trade your players on the new Transfer Market to build your Blood Bowl dream-team."
Check out Jim & Bob calling the Human squad and giving you an overview of what's new in the latest trailer.
