Apple TV More Of A Nintedo Wii Than PS4 Or Xbox One

When the Apple TV was hyped as a device to compete with the PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles, everybody forgot the Nintendo Wii, until it was finally revealed yesterday. The first game that was demonstrated on the Apple TV was Rock Band and based from the movements of the demonstration, it is more of a Wii type of console game rather than the two giants of the gaming console realm.

The Apple TV's remote went back and forth, similar to the movement of the Wii controller when someone is playing a Wii sports game. That being said, Apple might have to recalibrate their focus and reset their aim towards Wii and not with PlayStation and Xbox.

Before the newest Apple TV was launched yesterday, the Cupertino-based giant was poised as the newest rival for Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox game consoles because of the TV's capability to bring all the iOS based games right in the middle of the living room. Apple even went a step ahead by creating an independent App Store for the Apple TV in order for it to download the iOS-based mobile device game into the newest Apple TV.

In relation to the news, Microsoft came back and revealed a plan that will finally stop the Apple TV in its pursuit of the game console title. Recently, Microsoft confirmed that they will be releasing an update for the Xbox One with regards to its operating system.

As a back story, Xbox One is currently running on Windows but not Windows 10, and in order to compete with the Apple TV, or something to that effect, with the Windows 10 update of the Xbox One, it will be elevated from a living room gaming console into basically a computer in the living room.

However, Microsoft cited that the update will not, in any way, be a personal computer in the living room where it can run an MS Excel, Word, or PowerPoint but a mere game console that can play PC games in the Xbox One, in the living room.

While Microsoft and Apple were battling it out, Nintendo and Sony has yet to issue a statement or an update with regards to their console games.
