The upcoming major system update for PlayStation, V 3.00 (codename: Kenshin) is to add new components and substance to the new-generation console. Sony will run a beta for the new update through PS4's beta testing system this summer. However, the test will only be handed for those who opted in at this very moment.
Japan's consumer electronics giant, on the other hand, cautioned that there is a big possibility that not all features, which have been previously announced, will be included in the upcoming update. Those new beta elements includes YouTube streaming, an increase to 10 GB of cloud storage, a new and improved New Events hub, Sharing video clips to Twitter and Requesting to watch a friend's game, Express reported.
Also, popular review website Cinemablend mirrored what Express published and put emphasis on the social media-driven updates of the PlayStation 4. They also pointed out the update for PlayStation 4's interface, which will bring the gamer closer to future events and community functions, which are very good most especially for the MMORPG players and similar type of games.
However, regardless of the new and exciting feature that Sony revealed with the Version 3.00 or Kenshin update, industry experts wanted to see more updates that are more game related than the social media-driven changes.
Experts cited that PSN username should have been updated so members can choose to change their name or make their account invisible or protect the account with two-factor authentication. Nevertheless, the industry experts are optimistic for Sony makes these necessary changes moving forward considering that the update is still in its beta stage.
In related news, Sony just announced recently that they will move forward in cutting down the price of their PS4 in the UK region this coming October following the price cut of the game console in Japan. The move was earlier predicted by Microsoft, which is now being pressured by their fans to follow Sony's gesture.
