The trailer of "Halo Wars 2" revealed at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 impressed the game aficionados with its different graphical features. The teaser was quite different from its original "Halo Wars" in 2009 that made the looks of the protagonist new to everyone.

The Lead Role

"Halo Wars 2" developer, 342 Industries, explained that there is a reason why the sequel has new actors, according to Game Spot.

"Because they are different," 343 Industries wrote on its weekly blog. "For both casting and technical reasons."

The video game industry company described that the original "Halo Wars" had characters that were only made up for that moment.

Compared to the computer graphics in "Halo Wars 2" today, the leading roles in "Halo Wars" were "effectively 'hand drawn' amalgams of character, rigging and aesthetics."

As the original "Halo Wars" was made in 2009, the lead roles were created with the technologies of 2007, which at that time was already far-fetched.

NonCross-Platform Play

Aside from the new roles, the game aficionados also question the cross-platform play of "Halo Wars 2."

"Halo Wars 2" is going to be available for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, but the game does not support cross-platform play, as of the moment.

Hence, it looks like "Halo Wars 2" still denies any connection using the two game platforms, Vine Report reported.

However, 343 Industries' studio head Dan Ayoub cleared that they have been working for a cross-platform play for "Halo Wars 2" since 2014, but, as of now, they focused more on developing Xbox Play Anywhere.

Extended Beta

Meanwhile, Microsoft also announced the extended beta of "Halo Wars 2" at E3 2016, as per Game RantWith "Halo Wars 2" trailer, it confirmed that the beta version of the sequel was about to start on June 13 and would be on-going until June 20.

But, as the "Halo Wars 2" beta definitely became a sought after, 343 Industries announced that it was going to extend the beta until June 22.

"Halo Wars 2" is about to be released in 2017.
