‘Watch Dogs 2’ Latest News, Release Date & Rumors: Tower Synchronization Not Included? New Game Details Revealed!

Players who were able to enjoy “Watch Dogs 1” will be in for a surprise with one key feature taken out by Ubisoft for “Watch Dogs 2."

Speaking to Eurogamer, Ubisoft creative director Jonathan Morin bares that the tower synchronization feature will no longer be around for “Watch Dogs 2” meaning players will be forced to explore the world instead.

For those who are unaware of the tower synchronization feature, such was introduced on “Assassin’s Creed”. It involved players scaling towers to unlock and get a better glimpse of the surrounding area that helps gamers progression.

Aside from “Assassin’s Creed” the same feature was also present in other Ubisoft game titles such as “Far Cry” and “The Crew”. For “Watch Dogs 2”, game play will fall largely on how many virtual followers the game’s main protagonist (“Marcus Holloway”) accrues.

"Players start with a few followers in [hacking group] DedSec, but pretty soon you realise you're going to need more if you want to pull off big operations. So you start free-roaming," Morin explains.

The new game ploy should be interesting and challenging though such is expected to require a feeling out period. This holds true particularly for the ones who have been used to the aid of tower synchronization despite the fact that the intent is to entice player challenges.

Co-op play added

Aside from that tower synchronization iteration, there are other new features to look out for. That includes co-op play which allows players to team-up in the open world, a new dimension other than the single-player mode many will likely undertake in the early going.

New approach hopes to improve on story telling

The new ploy is seen as an offshoot from “Watch Dogs 1’s” lackluster storytelling. The game lacked the spunk seeing bland characters and protagonists which basically delved on how a hacker rose from the ranks mainly through a constrained environment.

This time around, “Marcus Holloway” will be pretty much opposite of all that. The new follower system directly solves the issue of being a loner, allowing “Holloway” to be more connected with a network per Game Spot.

“Watch Dogs 2” is set for release on November 15, 2016 with game versions for the Xbox One, PC and the PS4.
