The executive producer Julie Plec told TV Line that fans already loved a number of characters from "The Vampire Diaries." "And this is a year about celebrating what the series has been and what it's felt like to be together and to love these characters," she teased.

Hence, people behind "Vampire Diaries" will do their best to bring back these individuals either from a memory scene, flashback or other surprises. "We'll find ways to just say hello and goodbye to those people again," Julie Plec hinted.
