'Elder Scrolls 6' Release Date, News & Update: Bethesda Confirms Launch After 'Skyrim' Special Edition Remaster

Bethesda recently confirmed that it is developing "Elder Scrolls 6," although it is still a long time from the official lanch. The announcement was made by Bethesda Game Studios head Todd Howard.

According to Howard, Bethesda is currently working on three projects, with "Elder Scrolls 6" being one of these. There is a large likelihood that the highly anticipated title may be the last to release in the bunch. Howard stated that "Elder Scrolls 6" is like the elephant in the room. The game always felt like it whenever they talk about anything and he appreciates how they are able to tell fans that they are definitely working on the game. They are very passionate about "Elder Scrolls 6," but clarified that it is still a long way off.

IGN cited the Bethesda head in saying that he can explain the game, with fans doubting that the technology for "Elder Scrolls 6" may not yet be available. Some may speculate that "Elder Scrolls 6" will take long to develop, and he agreed that it will take a while to complete. He continued that they have two other big projects that are larger than everything they have accomplished before. He teased that people will learn more about these two titles before "Elder Scrolls 6" and everything will make sense years from now.

Howard explained that Bethesda studios plan for the long term. They are not the type who rush things and will wait for the right time and technology to become available to ensure the good quality of "Elder Scrolls 6." As for the first two titles, which remain unnamed at the moment, Howard hinted that it may be related to "Fallout 4," considering the brief time between the official game announcement and release. He said that they will present it at the right time.

The Bitbag reported that fans can look forward to the "Elder Scrolls 5" remaster, titled "Skyrim Special Edition," which will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, beginning on Oct. 28, 2016. The remastered "Elder Scrolls 5" will be free for PC owners who already have the original game and all the DLC.
