'Battlefield 1' Beta Latest News, Release Date & Update: Players can Now Vote for Their Preferred Platform

This October, EA is finally releasing the highly anticipated first-person shooter video game, "Battlefield 1."

But before that, the company will be releasing a "Battlefield 1 beta," details of which have not yet been made public. However, EA has already asked fans to vote for their favorite platform for the highly anticipated beta. Gamers can now log on to the Battlefield Insider page and select the platform they would like to play the beta version of the game on. Players can select from Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Windows PC.

According to Gamespot, users may only get one code per email address used, but the player's choice of platform can still be changed, in the event he or she changes his or her mind. The codes will then be sent to the indicated email address once they are available.

Meanwhile, there's no official announcement on when the "Battlefield 1" beta will launch, but fans should be assured that it would happen a little after this year's Gamescom. Fans can now sign up at Battlefield Insiders for the beta. Those who do sign up can access the beta three days before the official release date of the game, and have acess to "in-game rewards, exclusive content, and sneak peeks at news about Battlefield."

According to Gotta Be Mobile, "Battlefield 1" will be set in World War 1 and will feature a slew of new weaponry, maps to explore, and vehicles to assist gamers in their journey, but nothing more specific. It seems that fans will have to wait for further announcements from EA.

"Battlefield" began in 2002 with "Battlefield 1942," followed by "The Road to Rome" a year later. "Battlefield 2" arrived in 2005, with the third iteration in 2011. The fourth "Battlefield" game was released in 2013. "Battlefield 1" arrives on PlayStation, XBox One, and Windows PC on October 21.
