'Pokemon Go' Cheats, Tips & Tricks: How To Claim, Battle And Win At Gyms

After gathering and evolving various types of creatures in "Pokemon Go," players will want to start conquering gyms. There are a number of effective approaches on how trainers can successfully battle and defeat gyms. Taking hold of and defending gyms in "Pokemon Go" also results to free Pokecoins every day.

"Pokemon Go" players can start battling gyms when they reach Level 5. They will initially choose among three teams - Team Valor (red), Team Instinct (yellow) and Team Mystic (blue). It is recommended that players choose a team in "Pokemon Go" based on the available gyms in their location to make it easier to look for a gym to join. Players can enter gyms of the same color, provided that there is sufficient space.

USGamer reported that after joining a gym in "Pokemon Go," they have to assign one of their Pokemon to defend it. Over time, more slots will open up for new trainers to join and boost the gym's defenses. Challengers generally have to beat all the Pokemon trainers in the gym to lower its prestige to zero and subsequently take over. "Pokemon Go" trainers should send one of their better Pokemon to defend the gym or boost its prestige by sending a Pokemon to train with its members.

Taking over gyms in "Pokemon Go" will require powering up and evolving several Pokemon so that these are ready for battle. Gathering Candy and Stardust is required to make Pokemon stronger. Increase Pokemon stats by saving power ups as well as evolving these. It is ideal to evolve Pokemon first before powering them up to determine the stats to develop. Also study the competition first before attacking gyms. During battle, "Pokemon Go" trainers can use both the basic attack and special attack. Wait for the blue bar to fill up to use the special attack.

Mirror stated that the top 10 Pokemon for attacking gyms in "Pokemon Go" are Dragonite, Flareon, Exeggutor, Arcanine, Victreebel, Charizard, Magmar, Nidoking, Gengar and Vileplume. Fire Pokemon have a particular advantage in offensive stats, making them a must-have in every "Pokemon Go" trainer's arsenal. More updates and details on "Pokemon Go" are expected soon.
