'Scandal' Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Who Will Be The Next President? Fitz, Jake, Olivia Have A Brewing Love Triangle?

As the election season continues in the United States, it is also the theme of a lot of TV series, like "Scandal" Season 6. The political thriller is set to kick off where Season 5 exactly left off on the election night where Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) made it in the Presidential race.

The New President

However, the show's executive producer Shonda Rhimes was questioned if the return of "Scandal" Season 6 would still be about the election season. "Yes and no. We are basically going to start our season on election night. Yes, it is going to play into our season, but we're not going to spend our time playing an election," the 46-year-old writer told Entertainment Weekly.

In "Scandal" Season 6, the seat for Presidency will be, evidently, between Mellie and Frankie and whoever wins will replace Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). Cyrus (Jeff Perry), too, will keep his campaign all by himself as everyone seems to sympathize with Jake (Scott Foley) more than him in "Scandal" Season 6.

A Brewing Love Triangle

As there will be a new President in "Scandal" Season 6, Fitz will now have the time to pursue his love for Olivia (Kerry Washington). But, it looks Olivia is not interested to Fitz as she still wants to be with Jake (Scott Foley), Christian Post reported. The role of the 44-year-old star, on the other hand, will make sure that he still has a part in Olivia's life as he will try his best to make their relationship work.

Scott Foley recent revealed that there are some major twists in "Scandal" Season 6 that really surprised him and so are the fans. He was shocked to know that Fitz would face Olivia about their aborted child. Hence, fans may see a love triangle between Jake, Fitz and Olivia in "Scandal" Season 6, which will be back on ABC in 2017.
