'Overwatch' Latest, News & Updates: Jeff Kaplan Details Changes for Season 2; Sudden Death Replaced?

Blizzard Entertainment's "Overwatch" has a new map underway. With it, the developer has some plans on the changes that will take place for the said title which will take place on the second season.

The first-person shooter spectacle "Overwatch" has already taken over the Web since its release. Now that the game is officially standing on its own, director Jeff Kaplan has some notes that fans of the game should be aware of; mostly on the changes that will come for season 2.

According to Express, a YouTube video was launched in which Kaplan's plans for "Overwatch" season 2 were mentioned, going alongside the announcement of the Eichenwalde map. This includes the Skill Ratings, Sudden Death and Tiers.

The existing "Overwatch" Skill Rating system that runs from 1-100 will be given a boost of 1-5,000. Such is to give players a certain degree of enthusiasm on where they are currently on.

Kaplan further added that fractional updates will be no more, and players can rest assured that they will escalade with whole numbers. As per The Bit Bag, the new "Overwatch" system will also be given a Tier Ranking which is made up of Bronze to Grand Master tiers that sum to up to seven tiers.

Players will be given rewards based on the highest rankings they have reached during the end of a season. Gamers should not fret, as a Gold tier player will not immediately fluctuate in ranking even after a few unsatisfactory game performances.

As for the omissions, "Overwatch" will be taking out the Sudden Death, replacing it with a mechanic wherein Competitive points are bestowed on the two participating teams. These teams will gain 30 more seconds whenever they take over a capture point, post to Point A.

The "Overwatch" season 2 and its changes is expected to take flight by September 6. Stay locked for more gaming news.
