Fans can't expect everything to remain the same when "House of Cards" Season 5 release date arrives next year. Aside from the expected plot twists, the actors themselves would no longer be the same as some are already confirmed to be leaving the show for good.

The latest of these "House of Cards" Season 5 cast changes involves actor Michael Kelly.  Apparently, Kelly will no longer be back next season to reprise his role as Frank Underwood's ally Doug Stamper, reports The Wrap.

'House of Cards' Season 5 Spoilers - Frank's Fall Predicted?

Here's something to chew on. Apparently, there are indications that when "House of Cards" Season 5 release date arrives, it also herald the start of the end of Frank's high-flying days.

This particular spoiler was dished out by Kelly himself. While he will no longer be joining the "House of Cards" Season 5 cast as Frank's trusted Stamper, he revealed a possible direction that the show could take next season.

Back in season 3, former showrunner and "House of Cards" Season 5 creator Beau Willimon confided to Kelly that there are two ways that the show could proceed. Fans could either see the Frank and Doug tandem rampage their way to success indefinitely or see Frank and Doug fall into hard times after achieving success.

Kelly confirms that Willimon actually preferred to see Frank and Doug suffer the humiliation of defeat. According to Kelly, Willimon said "I want to see what happens when they fail."

Of course, it still remains to be seen if the current showrunner would still intend to follow Willimon's original plan. But it's not just a case of political failure that could be waiting for Frank when "House of Cards" Season 5 release date arrive next year. For instance, a host of spoilers predict his death either as a result of an ailment or even through the machinations of his equally ruthless wife.

'House of Cards' Characters Known Even In Political Arena

Apparently, even politicians are hooked on the highly entertaining Netflix political drama series. For instance, Carly Fiorina attacked Hillary Clinton by comparing her to "House of Cards" Season 5 characters, reports NewsMax.

The former GOP presidential candidate and HP CEO was said to have posted on her Facebook page that "If Hillary Clinton were on House of Cards, we would turn her off. Because her corruption, her entitlement, and her singular focus on ambition would be too unbelievable for TV."

For now, Netflix has not yet announced an definite release for its fifth season. While the series is said to be currently in production, insiders place the "House of Cards" Season 5 release date to happen sometime next year.
