'Pokemon GO' Latest News & Updates: Buddy System Release Details; Appraisal Features, Rewards - Find Out More!

"Pokemon Go" players were thrilled to discover that a new Buddy System is about to launch. The new "Pokemon Go" buddy system will let trainers pick one creature from their current collection that will appear in their avatar, as well as earn Candies while they walk.

Niantic revealed that "Pokemon Go" trainers can walk their chosen Pokemon in the next update. The Buddy Pokemonexperience will most likely launch on Sept. 6, 2016, based on the recent update launch pattern. The new feature may also become available on Labor Day. Heavy noted that Niantic has been launching "Pokemon Go" updates more frequently in the past few weeks.

New "Pokemon Go" updates were provided every week in July, and then every other week in August, which fell either on a Monday or Tuesday. "Pokemon Go" launched in the United States, Australia and New Zealand on July 6, 2016. One week later, login issues and crashing problems in "Pokemon Go" were addressed. On July 20, Niantic provided minor text adjustments.

On July 30, footprints were removed and avatars became customizable. On August 8, the new sightings feature was added, a Nearby feature launched in San Francisco, and players were allowed to change their nicknames once. The latest major update was on August 23, where the Appraisal feature was provided. The distance tracking was also tweaked. Based on the previous pattern, the "Pokemon Go" buddy system should be ready before mid-August.

GamesRadar reported that news about the "Pokemon Go" buddy system started after dataminers checked the game code. Using the new system, "Pokemon Go" trainers can choose one Pokemon that they will walk around with. Aside from having a better-looking avatar, players can gain in-game rewards and experiences. There will be helpful bonuses like Candy when the trainer and buddy Pokemon walk certain distances together.

The Pokemon buddies were categorized into four, based on size. "Pokemon Go" players can only choose one buddy at a time and can replace as they please. The Pokemon buddy will only appear on the trainer screen, and not when the player is viewing the map. More updates and details on "Pokemon Go" are expected soon.
