Mass Effect- Our List Of The Five Best Vehicles In The Trilogy (Watch Trilogy Trailer Here)

Urdnot Wrex is finally coming to PlayStation 3 with the release of the Mass Effect Trilogy pack and the original Mass Effect on Sony's gaming console. But this also means Sony gamer will get to experience the greatest all-terrain vehicle in video game history, the M35 Mako.

Yeah I am exaggerating a little bit. The Mako was a pain to drive at times, but also helped to break up some of the running and gunning of the original title. So in celebration of the Mass Effect 1's release, I decide to make a list of the best vehicles in the Mass Effect Trilogy. Here are my picks:

5. The M35 Mako:

The infantry-fighting vehicle packed a turreted 155mm mass accelerator cannon and coaxial-mounted machine gun that was perfect for mowing down Geth forces or taking down a Thresher Maw. The vehicle's armor can also withstand high drops, extreme weather conditions and Commander Shepard's driving. The Mako is also equipped with micro-thrusters that can send the vehicle across chasms. The Make was also repairable with good old Omni-gel. I really wish they had brought it back for part two with a couple of tweaks and better control.

4. M-44 Hammerhead:

The Mako's hovercraft sibling, the Hammerhead was released as part of the Firewalker DLC for Mass Effect 2. Like the Mako, it is able to be dropped from high-altitude and withstand extreme temperatures. The Hammerhead can repair itself as long as it isn't under attack by enemy fire. The best thing about the Hammerhead was that it had a speed boost that propelled the vehicle through areas much faster than the Mako.

3. The Atlas:

The Cerberus created mech from Mass Effect 3, the Atlas is just plain awesome. The human-piloted apparatus has machine guns and a powerful rocket launcher for its offensive capabilities. Nothing is more fun than taking out and entire Cerberus squad with one of their own machines. It also has a durable shield and armor to protect its pilot against enemy fire. The only problem is that the Atlas should have been utilized more during some of the bigger action sequences.

2. Reaper Dreadnoughts:

The Reapers were first introduced through Saren Arterius' flagship dreadnought Sovereign and ever since I have wanted to highjack a Reaper ship. Imagine if Mass Effect 2 would have allowed Shepard to control the derelict Reaper during the game's final mission. Even in part three, if one of the galactic alien races would have been able to reprogram a destroyed Reaper that would have been awesome.

1. The Normandy SR-2 and SR-1:

I still cannot believe that we got to control Joker in Mass Effect 2, but not the Normandy. Forget the controversy surrounding ME3's ending, not being able to fly the Normandy was the biggest fan-disservice in the trilogy. Bioware could have at the very least included the space-combat mini-game found in Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic. We didn't even get to use the Thanix Magnetic-Hydrodynamic cannons that Garrus installed. Both version of the Normandy are awesome and it really is too bad that we never got to take control of either one. Maybe in Mass Effect 4 we will get to control the SR-3.
