Assassin's Creed III players are writing on the Ubisoft forum that they are experiencing a issue with their game progress after downloading the game's recently released Hidden Secrets expansion.
According to a report by GameSpot, Ubisoft is aware of the issue and is currently working on a solution to solve the issue or work around it.
"From what we can tell, this problem seems to be rare and should generally only affect a very small number of players," Ubisoft community developer Gabriel Graziani said. "That said, we're taking the speedy and complete resolution of this very seriously."
Graziani says the issue can be avoided by not loading game saves while the Hidden Secrets DLC's is downloading in the background.
"This appears to be the key trigger for this bug," Graziani said. "You can do anything else you want to do, just don't load up your saved game and play it while the DLC is downloading."
The Hidden Secrets pack launched earlier this week for Season Pass holders and will launch on Dec. 11 for everybody else. The Assassin's Creed III Season Pass cost 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $29.99 on the PlayStation Network. The pass provides a more than 25 percent savings over purchasing each DLC separately.
The add-on includes three missions: the Lost Mayan Ruins, the Ghost of War, and a Dangerous Secret. The new DLC adds an hour of gameplay and new weapons.
Gamers will also receive two single-player costumes including the Captain of the Aquila uniform and the traditional Colonial Assassin outfit as well as Redcoat and Sharpshooter characters for multiplayer.
Ubisoft also announced that the previously unveiled The Tyranny of King Washington DLC would be broken up into three separate expansion packs. Ubisoft previously announced that player who purchased the Assassin's Creed III Season Pass would receive five expansions. We now know four out of the five.
Assassin's Creed III is available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Windows PC.
