Star Wars: The Old Republic Celebrates Its One Year Anniversary With Fireworks

In order to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware has announced that they are giving all members a valid Star Wars: The Old Republic account and 25 complimentary stacks of faction-based fireworks.

Bioware also announced that they would be accepting screenshot submissions from player's celebrating the anniversary in-game between now and Jan. 2 The best pictures will be featured on The Old Republic official website and Facebook page.

Here is how gamers can participate:

Log in and take screenshots of your in-game 1st Anniversary celebration moments. Be creative! Choose a day and time to meet up with your guild or other players and create a spectacular celebration moment.

Guidelines for screenshots:

  •  Screenshots should not be retouched or enhanced
  •  Screenshots must solely utilize in-game environments and objects
  •  Screenshots must be at least 800x600
  •  We recommend turning off your User Interface
  •  All submissions are subject to the Electronic Arts Terms of Service

Email your screenshots to celebrate_EN@swtor.com before January 2nd, 11:59PM CST.

  •  Total email size cannot exceed 5MB.
  •  To qualify to be featured, your email must include the following information:
  •  Character Name(s)
  •  Country of Origin

The following is optional, but may be included in your email:

  •  One sentence describing what is going on in your picture
  •  In-game location where the screenshot was taken
  •  How long you've been playing the game

Bioware recently released Game Update 1.6 for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The new features new PvP mechanics in a new Warzone that is called the "Ancient Hypergate."

The Republic and Imperial forces are battling to control two energy pylons. The update also brings with it 12 combined "Level 50 Heroic Space Missions" for Republic and Imperial forces. According to Bioware, "these updated Space Missions are the most intense Space Missions to date."

The new update is also adding new items into the Cartel Market including the addition of Lifeday items. One of the new items will be the Czerka LD-1 Celebrator, a new vehicle that Bioware says, "is so ridiculously awesome that it needs to be seen to be believed."

Bioware also issued a reminder for former subscribers that the deadline to receive Complimentary Cartel Coins for previous paid months is on Dec. 20. Former subscribers can check out how many Complimentary Cartel Coins they have earned by visiting the Cartel Coins Ledger here.
