Mass Effect 3 Endings: A Boss Battle With The Illusive Man Scrapped?

UPDATE: GamerSyndrome has removed the article and issued the following statement:

"This interview has been removed. The information provided previously by the author of this post was deemed to be obtained from an inaccurate source and NOT an official  Bioware or EA interview response.  We apologize for the inconvenience and the matter is being dealt with severely."

Original Story:

Mass Effect 3: Special Edition on Nintendo Wii U was late to the final battle between the intergalactic citizen of the council and the monstrous inorganic-organic Reapers. But the game managed to retain its powerful narrative on the new system, despite the fact that the two previous games in the trilogy never appeared on a Nintendo console.

Bioware is now suggesting that more games from the Mass Effect Series could be headed to Nintendo's latest gaming machine. In a recent interview with GamerSyndrome, a representative from Bioware talks about the first two games releasing on Wii U and about Mass Effect 3's ending.

"I can't really comment on rumored speculation about the game or the franchise," the representative told GamerSyndrome. "Wii U is a console we feel is really cool and that more Mass Effect would look great on it, so we do have plans for Wii U but nothing to announce at this moment."

The representative also talked about the many interpretations and theories of Mass Effect 3's ending that are circulating.

"We have heard many different theories and speculations about the ending of the game and we enjoy that fans are that involved in the game," the representative said. "The response to the ending of Mass Effect 3 was unexpected, so we listened to different fan ideas of what [they think] happened. I won't say whether this is something that comes close to what we planned for the end, but we are happy that fans have that much passion in the series, that they are willing to come up with extremely detailed ideas of it's endings."

In the interview the Bioware representatives also says that there was originally a final boss battle planned, but it was scrapped "because way too many [games] have that as their ending."

"We also scrapped the original ending for Mass Effect 3," the representative said. "We were gonna have it as a "boss battle", where Commander Shepard would go up and fight The Illusive Man who has been transformed by The Reapers. We scrapped that idea because way too many [games] have that as their ending, some final boss fight. Ultimately, we are proud of the finished products in the Mass Effect series and stand by them."

GamerSyndrome does not name the Bioware employee and the site states: "This posting may have personal views of the interviewee and not necessarily the official response by BioWare." So most of this information should be taken lightly.

What do you think about the scrapped boss battle? Do you think the game lacked an ultimate final villain? Did you hate the original endings? Did you feel the extended cut rectified the original endings? Did you love the original endings and feel like gamers are making to big of a fuss over it?
