Ubisoft called the upcoming Nintendo NX as "fantastic machine" and a truly unique approach to the gaming world. However, the statement left fans with more questions than answers about this enigmatic device.

Before we proceed further, here is a clarification why Nintendo NX was referred only as "device" instead of spot on "console" or "mobile." Truth is, nobody can tell what this new offering will look like because of Nintendo's secretive approach. Most logical guess yet is that NX will be a hybrid device. Meaning, it can be a cross between console and portable mobile gaming platform.

Now what is Ubisoft's connection to Nintendo NX that warrants them to peek under its development program? To cut short the chase, Ubisoft made dedicated games for Nintendo Wii U in the past. This relationship dug deep impression to Nintendo because of rarity of developers willing to gamble exclusive game titles. Most still prefer multi-platform titles that will sail smoothly on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Game Spot said.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot dissects the rationale behind the developer's support for the Nintendo NX. This act can be considered beneficial to the gaming world because it spills hints and clues about the mysterious NX, IGN reported.

Guillemot said that it is ok that gamers are bent on PlayStation 4 and Xbox or even VR for now. He calculates that when interest recedes, then it is the moment of triumph for Nintendo NX because it is different. Again, this hints that NX is unconventional.

Meanwhile, Guillemot confirms that Ubisoft is cooking game titles for Nintendo NX. He then adds that these projects are huge to ensure that gamers' interest will not dwindle. It makes sense because new concepts like NX have very limited window of opportunity. Something untested like NX is a make or break where gamers might stay or backtrack to PS and Xbox.
