'Diablo 4' Release Date, News & Update: 3 Hints That Game May Not Be Coming At All

"Diablo 4" is rumored to be delay in rolling out. Game developer Blizzard had been introducing patch updates for "Diablo III" since its release in 2012, but has already stopped, leading to speculation that the game has reached maintenance mode.

However, despite the wide success of the "Diablo" franchise, Blizzard is said to be reluctant on releasing a fourth installment of the game. Rumor has it that the game developer is eyeing a new, big game.

Rumors began when Blizzard was spotted posting jobs online on its official career page. Blizzard even put a job posting for a game director, Breathecast reported. About a month ago, "Diablo 4" game director George Musketeer had left the company due to personal reasons and the post remains to be vacant. Since then, Blizzard has not called applications for the post. It is believed that Blizzard has already initially chosen a person to be hired.

The initial theory was that Blizzard was coming up with "Diablo 4" at the BlizzCon 2016. However, a newly hired Blizzard employee revealed that the company is indeed planning something brand new for Diablo but not "Diablo 4" or an expansion of "Diablo 3."

The Blizzard employee has hinted that Blizzard has plans to break away from the traditional mold of gameplay. Additionally, it is believed that a mobile version of "Diablo" is in the works. Moreover, Blizzard has ceased announcing Public Test Realm for "Diablo 3".

Meanwhile, in a Facebook livestream, "Heroes of the Storm" art director Samwise Didier unveiled Samuro the Blademaster, the newest hero to join the fray and is said to appear in "Diablo 4." The character will be on a warrior's pilgrimage searching for vengeance and redemption for the fallen clan, Didier added. Samuro has already sworn an oath to restore his clan's honor.

"Diablo 4" may include the advancing strike of Samuro with a speed increased by 25 percent for two seconds, according to a report. Additionally, bladestorm is the heroic ability that transforms this character into a dervish of spinning steel. Moreover, Illusion Master swaps his position with the targeted Mirror Image that generates a doppelganger capability. Watch Diablo 4 job postings filled, Diablo 3 confirmed maintenance mode?
