'Overwatch' Latest News & Update: 'Halloween Terror' Event Goes Live; New Skins, Gameplay & Junkenstein's Revenge

Only player icons were left not purchasable in "Overwatch" Halloween Terror event as developer Blizzard decided to make full swing of the season. Halloween Terror Event opened in Tuesday, Oct 11 and will run through Nov 1st.

The opener confirmed that credits can buy Epic skins, highlight intros, sprays and even victory poses. Earlier "Overwatch" Halloween Terror announcements fenced the purchase for Legendary skins. Gamers need not worry about risky purchase using credits similar to what happened during Summer Games event. Several gamers experienced problems purchasing event-only skins back then.

This time around, "Overwatch" Halloween Horror event allows gamers to purchase event pack consisting of all skins for 3000 credits, PC Gamer said. Consider this time advantageous for those thrifty gamers who prefer hoarding credits. Although these facelift can be purchased separately if gamers opt to. Blizzard assured that the game atmosphere itself will compliment skins because several tweaks were made to make the event authentic trick-or-treat.

To start, "Overwatch" Halloween Horror presents glowing jack-o-lantern full of event-exclusive items instead of loot boxes. Make no mistake about it, this special event is not limited to appearance only. The first Player-Versus-Monster gameplay was included for a proper scary treat. "Junkenstein's Revenge" is available to challenge valiant defenders.

The gamer can choose from sets of four squads with original characters donning "Overwatch" Halloween Horror outfits. Ana dresses as alchemist, McCree poses as headless gunslinger, Hanzo in archer costume. Soldier 76's skin looks like Michael Jackson's thriller outfit, Overwatch subReddit said. These protagonists were tasked to defend Aldrebrunn castle against horde of zomnics, witch, reaper, Doctor himself and Junkenstein monster.

Remember that this "Overwatch" Halloween Horror gameplay is a standalone multiplayer mode. There are limitations on strategies that can be used, given the characters limited to only four. However, it is still a worthy try to kill the boredom and repeat syndrome any game sadly possesses. Anyway, there are 2 weeks to go before this event expires so anyone might try something to make this shooter even more exciting.
