'Battlefield 1' Latest News & Update: See History's Smallest Gun In Action; How To Play As A Pigeon

"Battlefield 1" is now available on Xbox One and PC and it has brought upon its players a timeless adventure across different boundaries. It appears that this game wants to be as complete as it can as recently, it has been revealed that this World War I shooter will allow its players to use the palm-sized Kolibri pistol.

GameSpot reports that this Kolibri pistol is the smallest production pistol in the world and only around 1,000 of these were ever made. Kolibri is a German term which literally translates to hummingbird, and these weapons were produced between 1910 and 1914 when World War I began.

While it appears to have a lot of firepower in the game, it actually fires an extremely tiny three-grain bullet in real life, which can travel around 650 feet per second. It is not very powerful, but can still take down an enemy in close range and it fits the weapon's portability.

It is not yet clear as to how to unlock the Kolibri pistol in the game; the only thing that looks clear now is how strange the tiny pistol looks in a first-person shooter. Another cool feature of this game is that it allows a player to see the action from many different perspectives, including that of a pigeon, as reported by Kotaku.

The single player mission on "Battlefield 1" lets a player experience the Battle of Cambrai in 1918 through the eyes of a chauffeur who became a tank operation, Edwards. Later on, Edwards and his crew get stuck in the mud and trapped in position by the enemy and in response, they release a messenger pigeon.

The player will be able to control the pigeon in a brief sequence and fly over the battlefield which gives a very wide view of the war's scale. Scorched earth and trenches are seen for miles and miles and while it feels brutal, it is suitably engaging in the moment in "Battlefield 1."

"Battlefield 1" is now available for Xbox One and PC for people who are subscribed to EA/Origin Access and a player can be treated to a sampling of the game's single and multiplayer modes. For those who choose to buy the $80 Early Enlister edition, they can start playing this October 18 and can avail of DLC.
