'The Last Ship' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Peter Well Joins Show! Can He Help Nathan & The Team?

Fans are now looking forward to the return of "The Last Ship" Season 4. Aside from the much-awaited moving on of Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) from the death of Tex (John Pyper-Ferguson), someone is set to grace the show. It was recently announced that Peter Well will join the action-drama TV series in a recurring role.

According to TVLine, Peter Well will help the crew of "The Last Ship" Season 4 as Dr. Paul Vellek. The 69-year-old veteran star will play the role of a world-renowned and powerful man in genetic modification and plant biotechnology.

Dr. Paul Vellek's expertise will be a great help to Nathan James and to the rest of the team in the coming "The Last Ship" Season 4. Aside from the said TV series, Peter Well is also known for gracing "Longmire," "Sons of Anarchy," "Dexter" and "24."

Moreover, it was recently reported that the death of Tex from last season finale greatly affected Tom. With that, the commander will be seen suffering from emotional trauma in "The Last Ship" Season 4. He feels the guilt from the loss of the private security officer as the latter saved his life from Allison.

From then, Tom quickly quitted his post that made some fans worry what will happen to him next. As he tried his best to save everyone, it looks like he overlooked himself. He has been accused of ruining the military group that made Allison decided to kill him. Will Tom get back to his feet again in "The Last Ship" Season 4?

"We thought it'd be great to sort of leave Chandler in a place where you wonder, 'Where's he going to be next time you see him?'" the showrunner Steve Kane said. "And can he ever get back that feeling he had that allowed him to stay this rock for everybody for three seasons?" "The Last Ship" Season 4 is expected to return in June 2017 on TNT.
