"Mafia 3" is now 2k's fastest selling game ever with over 4.5 million copies sold in the first week of the game's release. The game's achievement is a part of its recent earnings and marking the end of tit second fiscal quarter.

The units sold by "Mafis 3" only counts games which are bought by the retailers and not in the hands of the players. However, the third installment for Mafia delivered a lukewarm reception since its release which was mostly praised because of its story line.

A review by IGN stated that "Mafia 3" has strong characters and confident storytelling, which will keep you engaged however the gameplay is rarely delivered with a "bog-standard" and repetitive open-world action. Set during the late 60's,"Mafia 3" leading character is the New Orleans native, Lincoln Clay.

Clay is gets involved with the mafiosos during the racial tensions of that era. A similar combat and driving style from "Mafia 2" can be found on "Mafia 3", but with a lot of improvements.

There was also emphasis of the city which now plays a larger role in "Mafia 3". The players get to explore and go inside some of the buildings giving them the feeling of living in the city. Polygon reports that there is a downloadable content on the way as a part of its season pass.

Even with the impressive sales, gamers are complaining about "Mafia 3" PC port being locked at 30fps on Steam. 2k repaired the issue and promised to unlock the fps settings in the upcoming updates.

Attack of the Fan Boy reports, Take 2 and 2k are still convinced that "Mafia 3: has surpassed the opening week sales together with other franchises like "Borderlands," "Bioshock" and "NBA 2K". There is also a mobile game available on Android and iOS which is based on "Mafia 3" entitled Rivals and it is free to play.
