One of the much-awaited smartwatches of the year, the Samsung Gear S3, has been scheduled for preorders and shipping. The wait is over for many Samsung fans who are now excited to get hold of the device.

Releasing this month

Set to release this month, the Samsung Gear S3 preorders will start on Nov. 6. However, AT&T is reportedly accepting orders earlier than the scheduled date on Nov. 4. With preorders scheduled this early, it is projected that the smartwatch will be out by Nov. 18.

Its two variants: the Classic and Frontier will be sold for $349.99 for most carriers. Some, however, could offer it for a different price on installment basis like AT&T's $49.99 offer for two years.

Difference between Classic and Frontier

The Classic version of the phone is the elegant variant while the Frontier is the rugged type which comes with LTE capability. The latter is a device targeted for people who love the outdoors.

Aside from these features, the smartwatch is also equipped with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display, Tizen OS 2.3.2, dual-core 1 GHz Samsung Exynos chip, 4GB of internal storage and dust resistance, among others. It also comes with Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities.

Downloadable apps

Even though a user of the Samsung Gear S3 will not be able to access Google Play Store, the Tizen OS gives fans of the smartwatch the chance to download tons of applications from its own Tizen Store. They can also customize how the Samsung Gear S3 would look like especially with the changeable straps of the watch.

Samsung smartwatch fans surely have a lot to look forward to when the device launches this month. Tech aficionados will also see how it will fair with Apple's smartwatch offering. Are you excited for the launch of the Samsung Gear S3?
