‘Overwatch: Sombra’ DLC Release Date, News & Update: New Hacker Hero Officially Revealed; More Details on Abilities, Maps, New Characters, Weapons Revealed!

Blizzard hosted the Blizzcon 2016 over the weekend and gaming enthusiasts finally saw "Overwatch" latest game update, "Sombra." The new character DLC has been teased for months and finally, Blizzard has more details about the hacker hero while some lucky people even got the chance to try her out in the game.

Sombra's official page on Blizzard is now live and she has been given a three-star rating difficulty. This new "Overwatch" character is more on the offensive side of the fight and what makes her an effective infiltrator is her ability to move stealthily and deliver debilitating attacks. As noted by Gamespot, the Hack ability allows Sombra to prevent other players from using their abilities and even renders health packs unusable. She can also infiltrate Torbjorn's turrents, but won't damage or fully control them. It does, however, temporarily disable them, making them vulnerable to damage.

Despite Sombra's unique abilities that let her stay on top, she won't break the game, as shared by "Overwatch" senior game designer, Michael Chu. In a statement to GameSpot, Chu said, "I think that while she is really strong, and she has a really appealing set of abilities, she's definitely not game-breaking. She may be game-changing, it'll be really interesting to see how some of her abilities work in the meta."

Apart from the outstanding hacking ability, "Overwatch" Sombra also has the abilities Thermoptic Camo and Translocator. She can go invisible for a while as her speed is enhanced.  When using abilities or attacking, this invisibility is disabled. Translocator, on the other hand, allows her to teleport via a beacon she can throw out.

Interestingly, Sombra also has some sort of an x-ray vision, a passive skill known as Opportunistic, which allows her to see enemies behind a wall, particularly when their health level has dropped below 50 per cent. Also coming along with the "Overwatch: Sombra" update are new maps called Oasis and new Arcade mode. Blizzard has yet to announce the official rollout of Sombra but the update is expected to arrive this week.
