'Stranger Things' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Sean Astin Joins The Cast, Everything That We Need To Know!

"Stranger Things" Season 2 is already confirmed to return with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) also returning. The show is already in production and there are more characters from the 1980's joining the series.

According to E! News, Sean Astin of the films 'Goonies' and 'Lord of the Rings' is joining Stranger Things Season 2. Astin played Mikey in the film 'Goonies' and played the role of Samwise Gangee in Lord of the Rings.

Aside from Astin, Paul Reiser is also coming in to "Stranger Things" Season 2. Reiser has portrayed the role of Cater Burke in 'Aliens' and Paul Buchman in the movie 'Mad about You.' Additionally, Linnea Berthelsen is also part of the series.

In a report from Today, Astin is to portray the role of a RadioShack manager names Bob Newby in Stranger Things Season 2. He is a former high school classmate of Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) in the series.

Reiser on the other hand is to portray the role of Dr. Owens in "Stranger Things" Season 2. He is an employee at the Department of Energy and has been given the assignment of recording the supernatural events from the previous year.

A new character named roman is played by Berthelsen in "Stranger Things" Season 2. She is said to be an emotionally disturbed and damaged woman who has survived her childhood tragedies. She is known to feel the supernatural activities in the Department of Energy and in a creepy way.

It already has been reported by GameNGuide that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will have more answers about the mysterious events happening in Season 1. Barb's (Shannon Purser)story is also to be explored in the upcoming season. Although Barb will not be back physically but the memory of her remains in the town.

Aside from the three new characters to be introduced in "Stranger Things" Season 2, Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery are also the new faces to be expected in the upcoming season. Sink is to play Max while Montgomery is Billy. They are both new comers into town.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 can be expected in 2017.
