Willis Stryker and Carl Lucas grew up as the best of friends, now in a roundtable at New York Comic-Con, Erik LaRay Harvey revealed that Diamondback and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) are indeed brothers. In fact, he wants this angle to be featured and explored in "Luke Cage" Season 2.
"We know they were really close and we know they ran the streets together," Erik LaRay Harvey said via Bustle. "What we don't know [from the comics] and we didn't know until the show airs is that they were actually brothers." Does the actor just hint "Luke Cage" Season 2's plot?
Willis is the illegitimate son of Father Lucas, the real dad of Carl. When Father Lucas' wife gave birth to Carl, the true parentage of Willis remains a secret and he started to grow up without a father. Will "Luke Cage" Season 2 feature this backstory?
In fact, Erik LaRay Harvey hinted that the show's creator Cheo Hodari Coker is thinking to reveal Willis and Carl are brothers in "Luke Cage" Season 2. Of course, the "Boardwalk Empire" actor loved the idea, quickly concurred and said he is "immediately on board."
If Netflix follows this narrative, "Luke Cage" Season 2 is going to expand the characters of Diamondback and Luke Cage that were first made known in Marvel comics. Erik LaRay Harvey also believed that the blood bond Carl and Willis share will make a good story arc for "Luke Cage" Season 2.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Iron Fist (Finn Jones) is going to grace "Luke Cage" Season 2. In fact, the two superheroes are set to lead the "Heroes for Hire" that also said to have a crossover in the show's coming installment.
Mike Colter even admitted that he and Finn Jones are often hanging out. The "Jessica Jones" star, too, teased that he is going back to New York with the "Game of Thrones" actor as they are getting ready to shoot "Heroes for Hire." Netflix has yet to announce the release of "Luke Cage" Season 2.
