GoPro Karma Latest News & Updates: New GoPro Drone Just Hit Market, Now Being Recalled, What Is Wrong With The Unit?

The famous GoPro has taken the world by storm with its ease of use, unique camera angle options, and awesome user-made content. It has given regular people the opportunity to be their own unique filmmaker, so it only makes sense that GoPro would roll out another innovation in the form of a drone. The new GoPro Karma will give filmmaker enthusiasts the ability to take their shots to skies.

However, recent developments have caused GoPro to recall all units of their newly released GoPro Karma model. What went wrong?

According to PC Advisor, GoPro is immediately recalling all of the more than 2500 GoPro Karma units that have already been sold to the market. The recall was formally announced by GoPro because potential power issues that could spell disaster for the unit and the owner. GoPro stated that it "discovered that in a small number of cases, Karma units lost power during operation. We are investigating the issue and working in close coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration."

As reported by TIME, no injuries or property damage has yet to be reported by the power malfunctions. Fortunately, GoPro is issuing full refunds to GoPro Karma owners as a result of the inconvenience. Unfortunately, this will cause a significant blow to GoPro's plans this holiday season, as it was expected that the Karma would have been one of the main purchases for shoppers worldwide.

No timetable has been set for when the new batch GoPro Karma units will be manufactured and released to the public, power-malfunction free. GoPro founder and current CEO Nick Woodman has issued a statement regarding the sudden recalls. He stated that they are working closely with the Federal Aviation Administration and goes on to apologize to the consumers. He states, "We are very sorry to have inconvenienced our customers and we are taking every step to make the return and refund process as easy as possible."
