Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain And Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Will Be At Konami’s Pre-E3 show

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and the next game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series will all be at Konami's Pre-E3 conference in Los Angeles on June 6.

The Japanese company's reboot of its Castlevania series received a fairly positive reception when the MercurySteam and Kojima Productions collaboration Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was released in 2010. Lords of Shadow's ending needed a sequel seeing that *SPOILER* Gabriel Belmont is living his life in the present as Dracula.*END SPOILER* Expect gameplay to continue its predecessor's combination of combat in the vein of God of War mixed with exploration and puzzle solving. In a recent issue of OXM, MercurySteam's Dave Cox says Belmont can now gain health through draining the blood of his enemies, the camera can be freely controlled and there will be a contemporary city and a gothic castle to move about in.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is garnering a lot of attention coming into E3; all the way to its current unknown release date. It's been almost five years since we saw Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots. Though in true Hideo Kojima fashion, a few details have been released though they are sparse. The game is in development for the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. In addition, this is the first time the series will have an open world structure. Even though he's been  voicing Snake since 1998's Metal Gear Solid, David Hayer won't be reprising his role as the series' protagonist. It remains unclear how or if Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will fit into the equation.

EA's FIFA and Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer have been gaming's underrated slug fest for quality. Though EA's recent take on international football has edged Konami's out, the developers of PES have a few tricks up their sleeves including the usage of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's Fox Engine.

Konami's Pre-E3 show will begin 9:00 am PST and can be watched through live streaming at the developer's site or on Xbox LIVE.
