"Limitless" Season 2 Renewal Update, News: CBS Willing to Renew Series But With One Catch; Fans Take To Online Campaigning to Save Series

The confirmation by CBS OF the cancellation of “Limitless” led fans of the series to do the desperate move of organizing an online petition in the hope of keeping the show on air. Through Care2Petitions, the petition campaign is for CBS to give the show a second season.
To date, the campaign was able to garner 34,228 signatures.

According to a previous report by GamenGuide, it looks like CBS is slowly showing signs of interest in giving the show a second season. However, the network will only consider bringing “Limitless” back if they can do an overhaul of the show. The fans are totally against the idea since they are strong in the belief that the original plotline’s complexity and uniqueness are what made them love “Limitless” more.

EP Craig Sweeny was the one who confirmed the cancellation decision to the fans, who he thanked for their support. According to reports, one of the reasons why the first season of “Limitless" failed to reach its audience was because it was up against the more popular and established shows like “NCIS”.

There are various reports that say that the executive producers that include Bradley Cooper of “Limitless” tried to negotiate with streaming companies, Netflix and Amazon, but the deals fell through. In fact, many were surprised that Netflix, which is known to taking canceled shows of other networks, gave up on the chance of saving the series.

A report from FX News Call says that fans of “Limitless” who also happen to be Netflix subscribers, threatened not to renew their subscriptions if the streaming giant will not continue the series to its second season.

Meanwhile, “Limitless” producers are said to have set a meeting with Amazon Video to discuss a possible collaboration. Unfortunately, they have not convinced the powers behind Amazon to buy the rights for their series.

It appears now that the only chance for “Limitless” of getting renewed still hinges on CBS. Fans are hoping that their online petition campaign will move the network to continue the series in the shape and form that they have come to love.
