Amazon Fire HD 8 News, Updates & Specs: What Fixes Does Amazon Make To Make The Fire HD 8 Cheaper?

Even though most people who wants to have a tablet usually eye the Apple iPad -- whether it's the regular, Pro or mini --  or Samsung for the Galaxy Tab, the Amazon Fire is usually a decent option. The online retailing company makes a solid tablet entry in a scene that's full of many hardware options and the latest Fire HD 8 should be checked out for sure.

Amazon's Fire HD 8 is one of the cheapest tab options out there right now, going from anywhere between $59.99 to $134.99. The $59.99 price tag is actually for the upcoming Black Friday sale, reports CNET. But compared to its competitors, such as the Apple iPad Mini 2 and AT&T Trek 2 HD, it's a huge steal.

But why is it a steal, though? Forbes inspects the too-good-to-be-true pricing of the Amazon Fire HD 8 and has concluded that a lot of it is due to reductions on its specs. The aforementioned $59.99 price is actually for a 16 GB model with ads from Amazon, but even outside of Black Friday it costs $89.99. You can even get it ad-free for $104.99, and that's still cheaper than the AT&T Trek 2 HD ($149) or the Apple iPad Mini 2 ($249).

Amazon turns up all the advertising services for the Fire HD 8, and for the most part, people don't mind as long as the tablet is affordable. A lot of people will find it annoying, but if it's not too obstructive, then most bargain-hunters will let it slide. Amazon also makes money on its AWS cloud services, which allows it to sell the Fire HD 8 for a low price.

For tablet users who want a more feature-laden unit, then you can definitely do better with the Fire HD 8. The Amazon tablet is literally as budget friendly as it gets and the Fire HD 8 just doesn't offer much more than its competitors, according to a comparison report.
