Ahead of the April 2017 release of "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3," CI Games has announced that the upcoming tacical shooter game will have multiplayer. It's great news for fans of sniper games who would love to collaborate with friends and other gamers.

Gamespot spoke with CI Games' CEO Marek Tyminski to shed light on the upcoming tactical shooter game that now has multiplayer attached to it. He shared that the decision to do an open-world approach to the upcoming "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" sprang from the desire to tell more stories and make the experience more authentic.

Tyminski also added that in "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3," gamers will be able to progress through three types of characters—the sniper, ghost, and warrior. Also, spoiler alert: the main character, John North who is tasked to carry out orders, finds out that his biggest enemy is his own brother. That's how the game manages to emotionally manipulate the gamer and pose emotional challenges to his mission.

Tyminski shared that gamers of "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" will be able to indulge in the multiple supporting stories that provide more context to the main story. As for the multiplayer, he shared that for now, they haven't ironed out how large the multiplayer teams will be, but fans should rest easy knowing that they'll be able to play with their friends.

Gamasutra reports that "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" will be publicly playable for the first time during the PlayStation Experience event on December 3 to 4 in Anaheim, California. The game is directed by Paul B. Robinson and uses the CryEngine. It will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on April 4, 2017.
