'Fallout 4' Release Date, News & Update: Bethesda Releasing Mod Support for PlayStation 4 This Week

Fans of Bethesda's recently-released action RPG "Fallout 4" should rejoice, as this week sees an update that brings mod support for PlayStation 4. Gamers who use the Sony console to play the game released last week will finally get to enjoy mod support.

Gamespot reports that Bethesda is releasing mod support for PlayStation 4 gamers this week, an announcement made on Twitter. Just last month, the studio announced that they and Sony have agreed upon allowing mods for both "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim: Special Edition."

Meanwhile, the new "Fallout 4' Update 4.1.8 is now available for those playing on PC. Several issues have been resolved, including issues on sound effects, occassional crashes when exiting the Main Menu, issues regarding Library and/or Favorite Mods categories, and more. The complete patch notes are in the Bethesda website. As for those who are looking for mod support for PlayStation 4, make sure to watch out for Update 1.8.

"Fallout 4" Update 1.8 should arrive later this week, so gamers mustn't wait any longer. As per VG24/7, the game also supports PlayStation Pro, and will be able to render in native 4K, with "enhanced lighting and graphics." Gamers should anticipate a file size of around 1GB, as this is the size limit for mods as mandated by Sony.

"Fallout 4" was released on November 10 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC. It is directed by Todd Howard and produced by Jeff Gardiner. The game was released to highly positive reviews by gamers and critics alike. It also received the Game of the Year award from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
