As "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7 continues, someone is bound to say goodbye to the police procedural series. This will be the last chapter that fans will get to see Masi Oka, who plays the role of Dr. Max Bergman, as he decided to quit the show.
Masi Oka joined the first season of "Hawaii Five-O" in a recurring role and became a series regular in the next chapter. Dr. Bergman will be last seen in the coming "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7 Episode 13 on Dec. 2.
Masi Oka's exit in "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7 will see Dr. Bergman moving to Africa with his wife Sabrina (Rumer Willis). The 41-year-old star felt like his character already "ran its course" and it is the right time to move on.
In fact, Masi Oka told Entertainment Weekly that he "had done too much of everything he can do" for "Hawaii Five-O." He, too, revealed that he is now having a hard time to attend "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7's filming as he has to go back and forth to Hawaii for the production.
Masi Oka also told the show's executive producer Pete Lenkov that he wanted Dr. Bergman to have a nice send-off. But, if it could help "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7's ratings, he could actually kill him off.
"Do whatever works for Peter and his great writers to come up for a good ending for Max that would also help the show, because I want the show to go on as long as possible," Masi Oka explained. However, he is not going to be killed, he didn't close any doors for a possible return after "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7.
Meanwhile, Deadline reported that "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7's Friday episode on Nov. 18 received sky-high ratings. The TV Series led by Alex O'Loughlin got the number one spot for adult viewers, ages 18 to 49 years old, for three consecutive weeks. "Hawaii Five-O" Season 7 airs every Friday on CBS.
