A new trailer for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 hints trouble for Malec. The preview teases that Alec could lose Magnus too and not just Jace, if he is not careful with his words.
Freeform has released a trailer for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 that shows Malec argue with each other. Of course, the source of their argument is Jace Wayland.
Jace's disappearance stands between Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane's relationship. It is clear from the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 trailer that the loss of his parabatai greatly affected Alec. Magnus senses this too.
However, instead of asking for help, Alec pushes those close to him away, including Magnus. All the warlock wants to do is appease the Shadowhunter. Unfortunately, Alec begins to see Magnus only as a distraction in the "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
Alec Lightwood considers Magnus Bane a distraction in his mission to find and rescue Jace Wayland. In the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 trailer, Magnus tells Alec that he is willing to help. However, he refuses to help if it involves risking anyone's life, especially Alec's life.
"I would do anything for you, but I won't risk your life," Magnus tells Alec in the trailer for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
Alec Lightwood should be grateful that Magnus Bane thinks highly of his safety. Instead, he yells at him. Alec yells his frustration at not being able to save Jace Wayland. Alec is frustrated that he feels useless, since there is nothing that he can do to save his parabatai.
The trailer for "Shadowhunters" Season 2 ends with Alec asking Magnus what he wants from him. The warlock responds with, "At the moment, nothing." Does this mean the end of Malec in the new season? Will Alec lose Magnus too, all because of his desperation to rescue Jace Wayland? Fans will eventually find out what happens to Malec when the installment airs on Jan. 2, 2017.
