‘Pokemon Sun And Moon’ Latest News & Update: Boost Pokedex Catalog With Handy QR Codes

The new Nintendo 3DS game "Pokemon Sun and Moon" has given avid fans a new gaming world to explore and a slew of Pokemon creatures to capture. With the gaming title's new QR Scanner functionality, gamers can complete their respective Pokedex by using special QR Codes.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" contains a mix of new and well-loved features that made the gaming title an interesting addition to the "Pokemon" Nintendo 3DS franchise. One of the intriguing additions is an in-game QR Code Scanner that can only be unlocked once the game's main story has been completed.

With a special QR Code, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" gamers can discover the location of several Pokemon creatures. Apart from tracking Pokemon monsters, scanning ten QR Codes will also lead to an appearance of a rare creature, according to gaming tips posted on Reddit.

However, game developers have placed a restriction on the number of daily QR Code Scans that can be done in "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The said feature can only be used once a day and players are given an hour to look for the specific Pokemon featured in a certain QR Code. Gamers who were unable to locate the said creature within the timeframe can reuse the same QR Code but on a different day.

Meanwhile, a compilation of several "Pokemon Sun and Moon" QR Codes is also available on Imgur. With more than 200 QR Codes for various Pokemon creatures, gamers can scan codes for Ditto, Mimikyu, Comfey, Torkoal and others.

Given the vast number of QR Codes unveiled on the said site, avid "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players have a better chance of expanding their Pokedex and completing the catalog. However, there are several special Pokemon creatures who were not given QR Codes. The legendaries Solgaleo and Lunala cannot be acquired through the game's QR Scanner, as well as Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Necrozma and more.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" was released on Nov. 18 for the Nintendo 3DS. Learn more gaming tips in the clip below:
