"Rick and Morty" have been known for its surreal and modern theme, thanks for the animated series creators' Justine Roiland and Dan Harmon. As "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will soon come, the showrunners talked about the show's censorship.
Evidently, "Rick and Morty" is quite controversial for being a little ghastly and kind of weird. Of course, this will continue to be seen in "Rick and Morty" Season 3. According to Movie Pilot, Justine Roiland and Dan Harmon revealed the effects of Broadcast Standards and Practices on the cartoon series.
As "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is under Adult Swim, the show is not being questioned that much for its theme but still interfered at times. In fact, it has more freedom showing some violence, knowing that the mainstream TV doesn't allow revealing scenes like this. But, Justine Roiland and Dan Harmon chose to present other stuff.
"The s--- and the sex stuff. That tends to be the thing they put their foot down on. Violence seems to be less and less an issue," Justine Roiland explained. "Obviously gratuitous violence can be a problem but the sex stuff is real touchy. I think that's just our country. It's just the way things are." With that, fans will definitely see these themes in the coming "Rick and Morty" Season 3.
Meanwhile, Den of Geek reported that there are a lot of assumptions when will "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will air. In the season finale of the previous season, Mr. Poopybutthole hinted that the new chapter wouldn't happen until the next one year and a half.
Hence, "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is expected to be aired in March 2017. On the contrary, Dan Harmon has another release date in mind when he said that the recent Magic City Comic-Con that they are opting to reveal the new installment later this year.
Some writers of the show even asserted that they already completed the episodes of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 since Sept. 28, but it is still undergoing for an animation studio review. Dan Harmon also revealed that it will have 14 episodes this time.
