'NieR: Automata' Release Date, News & Update: Square Enix Loans Engine Blade from 'Final Fantasy XV,' YoRHa Wields Noctis' Sword

Developer Square Enix Added another wielder of iconic "Final Fantasy XV" sword Engine Blade and this time around YoRHa No.2 Type B of "NieR: Automata." Yes, Engine Blade is now traversing two universes and Noctis' creators seem happy to share it.

It has been rumored earlier that Square Enix is cooking a collaboration between "NieR: Automata" and "Final Fantasy XV." However, it took quick-eyed gamers to notice that YoRHa No.2 Type B is actually brandishing Engine Blade. It is unclear if there will be other crossovers since the recent gameplay video that Enix released is only 25-second long.

Gamers observed that "NieR: Automata" Engine Blade is actually the same in terms of damage and effects as well. There are no notable changes compared to "Final Fantasy XV" so what happened is actually a direct import, Guru3D reported.

Here is an interesting point of discussion though, is there any possibility that "NieR: Automata" will allow upgrading of Engine Blade? In original gameplay of "Final Fantasy XV" Noctis can upgrade Engine Blade from its base form. The falchion with motorcycle engine hilt can actually be fitted with vast array of other addendums based on "Final Fantasy XV" wiki.

Now here is another question, is it possible to use Noctis' powers with YorHa No.2 Type B of "NieR: Automata?" Gamers will always drool over the chance to evade enemies when any Engine Blade wielder can throw the weapon and warp to wherever it lands. At any rate, the best chance to get answers is during hype activities which is coming soon.

"NieR: Automata" will unleash in Japan on Feb 23rd next year for PlayStation 4. There will be follow through release in North America and Europe shortly thereafter. Until then, gamers will be left wondering what exactly this "Final Fantasy XV" sword can do in this crossover.
