Tekken series director announces plans for the future of the fighting franchise

With the over one a half million gamers playing Tekken Revolution, obviously, not all of 'em are going to fit in the narrow halls of Comic-Con. As such, quite a few missed director Katsuhiro Harada's panel. So, here's a nice recap.

After the recent addition of Jin Kazama and Ling Xiaoyu, a few new fighters are set to hit the US version of Revolution by the end of the month: feet of fury Hwoarang, and the Russian sambo commando Sergei Dragunov. The fighters are already out in Japan. Alongside them, a few new costumes will also be added.

For the time being, Revolution is remaining a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and is sticking to online play only. Harada clarified that the game was designed for the PS3 hardware, and despite fan requests, the team just doesn't have the resources to provide a PC port. As a free-to-play title, it's not like they have the money to support a port. If you want to play against a buddy at your house, there's already a dozen other Tekken titles you can do that with. Besides, with Revolution's limited roster, why would you want to designate that to simply offline?

Depsite denying fan requests for a PC version, Harada does pay attention to fan requests. So if there's something you'd like to see, feel free to ask him about it via his Twitter. He gets upward of 300 messages a day, so he can't respond to every last tweet, but he does read what he can.

Stepping away from Revolution for a moment, as Harada hasn't said anything yet about Tekken X Street Fighter, there's been a lot of curiosity about the game. Basically, while work is ongoing on the title, Harada doesn't feel it's quite ready to be shown off to the public just yet.

Lastly, for any of you that voted in the character poll Harada had for a new Tekken character, the results are in. In third was another classmate of Jin Kazama's, Shin Kamiya. Next up was a female member of the Tekken Force. In first however was the female vampire character that was apparently kept imprisoned by the Rochefort family. Harada showed off some of the character's concept art, which you can see above.

We'll keep you posted when players can expect to see this new character.
