In 2017, the new Role Playing Game (RPG) "Vampyr" will be released. This upcoming video game is compatible for Xbox One, Windows and Playstation 4. The "Vampyr" game is focused on a character named Jonathan Reid. He is a vampire doctor who is torn between his Hippocratic oath as a physician and his urge of sucking blood as a vampire.
"Vampyr" game has a twisted and dark story with stunning visualization that makes the video game more realistic. It is set and based on the 1918 London Spanish flu pandemic.
The "Vampyr" gameplay reveals that gamers will play the game via the third person's view. Obviously, players will take control of Jonathan Reid, whose bloodthirsty nature will get him into trouble. The only goal of the game is to stop the epidemic diseases from spreading throughout London.
Players need to feed the character in order to sustain his health. Reid can equip melee such as saws or ranged weapons when combating enemies. "Vampyr" has two kinds of vampires; the mutated vampires known as skulls and vampire slayers, who can easily detect Reid's kind.
Traveler's Today reported that "Vampyr" is set in a semi open-setting that allows players to explore the streets and houses in London to look for a target. All supernatural monsters and creatures that are included on the game are the werewolves, ghosts and ghouls.
Players of "Vampyr" can easily choose and eliminate their targets as they progress. Each target has their own memories. When a character gets killed, he would impart those last memories to Reid.
According to GeeksofDoom, the development began with a team of 60 people and later expanded to around 80. For a short time, the maker considered to set the game in 1950s America, but to inspire a more gothic mood, it was discarded in favor of the 1918 London Spanish flu pandemic. "Vampyr" is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2017.
