Rayman Legends’ 28 missing levels will be added later for free

When the new PlayStation Vita version of Rayman Legends arrived, owners discovered that the PlayStation Vita edition of Rayman Legends is missing 28 levels present in the main console version. Now it seems like developer Ubisoft is also aware of the situation and has replied accordingly.

“I know some of you have questions about the Vita version, so here's what's going on: Due to a longer development time than expected, we couldn’t initially include the Invasion Mode – essentially, a second take on existing Rayman Legends maps -- in the Vita version of the game. However, we can confirm that the Invasion Mode will be added via a free patch, at a later date,” the official reply states.

“With more than 100 levels, online Coop and challenges, Kung-Foot mini-game, 5 exclusive touch challenges developed specifically for the VITA and 2 exclusive costumes, Rayman Legends already includes a lot for customers to love, and features the same outstanding graphics and gameplay design as the home console versions.”

The problem arrived after Vita owners found that Rayman Legends' massively difficult Invasion levels (which according to a Eurogamer post are “remixes of already-completed courses with new layouts and hazards”) were not included within the game. Prior to this, Ubisoft had confirmed that the handheld version would contain all of the content from the original game.

“Rayman Legends on Vita includes all of the original Rayman Legends content, as well as five exclusive maps playable with Murphy, the greenbottle fly seen in previous Rayman games, controlled through the Rear Touch Pad. A multiplayer mode is locally accessible on Wi-Fi and fans from the same country can play in cooperation. Players can also compete with one another in the online challenges and compare rankings in the online leaderboards,” the official post for the game stated when it first arrived.

“In addition to the five Vita-specific maps, two exclusive costumes were created by the Ubisoft Montpellier team. Fans will have the opportunity to dress Rayman in a costume from Prince of Persia, the legendary hero of Ubisoft popular franchise, while Globox can be dressed in a costume from the famous spy series, Splinter Cell,” it added.

Comparatively, Rayman Legends on PS Vita and PC is cheaper than the version on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The game’s price is now $39.99 instead of the previous $59.99.
