A lot of television shows today are featuring the reality of the happenings in the world, especially the worldwide terror attacks and its connection with the Muslims. Hence, some worry that it is a negative implication and a total assault on the Muslim people bringing an issue between races. With the coming of "Homeland" Season 6 that will now feature the Muslims and terrorists, its co-creator Howard Gordon has something to say about the Muslim representation on television.
Gordon was asked if he is worried that "Homeland" Season 6 might increase the xenophobic attacks against Muslim people for its theme. "The short answer is, absolutely, yes," he said at the roundtable conversation with television showrunners with New York Times.
The showrunner of "Quantico," Joshua Safra, on the other hand, is making sure that he would never feature Muslims as the terrorists on his show. Gordon also added that in the beginning of "Homeland" Season 6, it would feature a "big business of prosecuting entrapment" that will show everyone's freedom of speech.
"How can someone express their discontent with American policy - even a reckless kid who might express his views that may be sympathetic to enemies of America, but still is not, himself, a terrorist," Gordon explained. With that, he insisted that they are not featuring the Muslims as the terrorist in "Homeland" Season 6, but how these people are being accused.
In fact, in a recent report, Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) will be back in New York City to help an organization that helps the Muslim people in "Homeland" Season 6. However, the "Romeo + Juliet" actress might have a misunderstanding with her previous work in the CIA as some of her former workmates believed that she is now an enemy.
It looks like Carrie's biggest enemy in the coming "Homeland" Season 6 is Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) as because she left working in the intelligence. "Homeland" Season 6 will return on Jan. 15 on Showtime.
