'The Big Bang Theory' Cancellation News & Latest Updates: Series Renewed For Season 11; Jim Parsons Reportedly Not Returning

“The Big Bang Theory” has been confirmed for an 11th season according to the show’s creator Chuck Lorre himself. Its current season is down to its last episode before the midseason finale. The hit sitcom which follows the lives of the main couples Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik), Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco), and their friends, has created quite a buzz if it was about to be cancelled before the renewal announcement.

Rumors of the main cast’s refusal to sign another contract without a raise hounded "The Big Bang Theory" since last year. Besides the alleged salary dispute, Cuoco is said to want some time off from the series in order to have a baby. But, she has reportedly already signed on for the next season along with her TV husband, Galecki.

Parsons, on the other hand, might no longer be a part of the “The Big Bang Theory” quirky gang next season. According to reports, he will be busy with other projects, one of which is the prequel to the ongoing series. The new show will focus on a teenage Sheldon while he was still living with his mom and siblings in Pasadena. Parsons will not be appearing in front of the cameras for the spinoff though but will be one of the producers.

The 43-year old “The Big Bang Theory” star is also rumored to be working on a new sitcom titled Lance 2.0 with his boyfriend Todd Spiewak. It is said to be about a young couple who met an accident and how they will deal with the aftermath. Because of the accident, the man’s personality will change that will cause him to be uncontrollable.

Parsons is also behind Freeform’s The Monarchy is Going to Sh*t which is about an illegitimate son being appointed to the throne of the Monarchy of Andova. Conflict develops when the legitimate daughter expects to be given the throne as the queen. So many things are going on in Parson’s career but there has been no confirmation yet about his return to the new season of “The Big Bang Theory”.
