'Overwatch' Latest News & Update: Highest-Ranked Player Made 5000 Skill Rating Cap; How?

A player made history in "Overwatch" on December 6. He was dubbed as the very best player, theoretically.

"Overwatch" Pro player Koo EVERMORE Kyo Min is the first player to achieve the 5,000 skill rating cap. He attained this feat just three days after the Season 3 began. EVERMORE is a Roadhog main of almost everything. He also played for Team KongDoo Panthera. Team Kongdoo Panthera has struggled in the event with their 9th to 12th place finish at "Overwatch" APEX Season 1, but they currently have the best player in the world. Kyo Min was, however, eliminated in the group stage of Overwatch APEX Season 1 tournament last month.

Kyo Min has a total skills rating of 90 in "Overwatch" APEX Season 1. In the next APEX Season, his final skills rating summed up to 4774. And, at the latest Overwatch APEX Season 3 he made 5000 final skills rating. His best four heroes played are Roadhog, Mercy, McCree, and Widowmaker. Mercy and Widowmaker are unexpected picks since neither is selected in professional matches. This goes to show the disconnection in the competitive matches and on stage.

The player made a record of 40 wins and five losses in the early stages of this competitive season. He has earned the maximum number of skill rating points possible on the 0 to 5,000 scale. He garnered an overall hero score of 33,615. Kyo Min played the game for six hours and has 90.24 percent win rate. The "Overwatch" event began in December 1, as reported by Overbuff.

Jeff Kaplan mentioned at BlizzCon that the team at Blizzard would be rejigging the way skill ratings worked for "Overwatch" this season. This is to more uniformly spread the bell curve allocation of players across the range. This might also be a factor that has in some way helped the player achieve his ratings.
