A fallen angel is on the loose in "Supernatural" Season 12 and it will take all of Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam's (Jared Padalecki) skills to capture Lucifer. Latest spoiler news teased of the Winchester brothers joining forces with Castiel (Misha Collins) and Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) to stop the devil from gaining control of the U.S. president.
Dean and Sam will have their hands full in the upcoming "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 8. Considered as the CW show's midseason finale, the said episode will feature the team up of beloved characters to defeat Lucifer. The two Winchester brothers will partner with Castiel, Crowley and Rowena (Ruth Connell) to stop the devil's plans to ensnare the U.S. president (David Chisum), according to episode spoilers posted on Spoiler TV.
Given the political power and influence that the country leader holds, the Dark Lord will head to the White House with the intention of capturing the president's body for his own. With the president clueless about Lucifer's identity, the American leader will "unknowingly" strike a deal with the devil's vessel and in turn with the fallen angel himself.
It appears that Dean, Sam and the two brother's allies will have to deal with a few special agents before they can stop Lucifer. Promo images posted on the same news outlet showed the Winchester brothers, as well as Castiel, caught in a tense encounter with secret service agents.
In other news, some "Supernatural" fans have been hoping to see Dean and Sam's father John re-appear in the CW series. Portrayed by "The Walking Dead" star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, John was last seen in a Season 5 episode that aired in April 2010.
However, "Supernatural" showrunner Andrew Dabb told TVLine that it may take some time before Morgan will reprise his role as Dean and Sam's father. The executive producer stated, "By the time he comes back, I'm sure [Supernatural] will have been on for 20 seasons at that point ... I'm excited to see [him return as John] if it ever comes to pass."
The "Supernatural" Season 12 midseason finale will air on Dec. 8, Thursday on the CW. Watch the episode preview below:
