‘Blindspot’ Season 2 Latest Spoilers, News & Update: Jane To Discover New Sandstorm Mole; NBC To Cancel Series?

Avid "Blindspot" viewers can expect to see exciting storylines in the second half of the NBC series' Season 2. Spoiler news hinted of a Sandstorm mole that Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and her team has yet to discover.

"Blindspot" Season 2 episode featured a suspenseful plotline that included Jane injecting her brother Roman (Luke Mitchell) with a memory-erasing drug in the hope that it will give him a chance at a new life. Titled "Why Let Cooler Pasture Deform," the said midseason 2 finale also showed Patterson's (Ashley Johnson) discovery that Dr. Borden (Ukweli Roach) is a Sandstorm mole.

With the unveiling of the person who provided the terrorist group the intel they needed about Jane and the FBI's moves, Sandstorm will consider Dr. Borden as a huge loss for their organization. However, another person will soon take his place.

"Blindspot" showrunner Martin Gero shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that despite the FBI discovering Dr. Borden's true identity, the terrorist group has another way to get information from the FBI. He teased that Sandstorm will always be a step ahead of Jane and her team.

Story speculations pointed to another Sandstorm mole hiding within Jane's team or inside the FBI. Gero added that the FBI team will become puzzled on how the terrorist group is able to anticipate their plans and actions. However, the "Blindspot" showrunner did not disclose details about the speculated Sandstorm mole.

In other news, "Blindspot" Season 2 might serve as the final chapter to the crime drama series. A list of potential TV shows that might get canceled, as compiled by TVLine, included the said NBC series.

Given the show's low ratings, NBC executives might decide against renewing "Blindspot" for another season run. However, the network may also opt to retain the series given Greg Berlanti's involvement in the said TV show. With Berlanti as the producer, NBC may opt to relocate "Blindspot" to another timeslot.

"Blindspot" Season 2 returns to the small screens on Jan. 4, 2017. Watch a teaser for the upcoming midseason 2 premiere in the clip below:
