Millions of gamers around the world were stunned when Nintendo released the classic Family Computer, which is popularly known as FamiCom. Considered as a NES Classic Edition alternative, the FamiCom Mini has effortlessly broken the internet.
Most gamers have been comparing the FamiCom Mini to NES Classic Edition due to its few similarities. However, though these consoles have been constantly likened, there are also some palpable differences between the two.
Forbes has reported that the FamiCom Mini is quite smaller than the original Family Computer. Unlike the NES Classic Edition, the newly-released console has two pads that will accommodate another player despite its reduced size.
Despite the fact that both NES Classic Edition and FamiCom Mini are now available in the market, most gamers are having a hard time looking for these consoles since there are only limited stocks for both devices. However, there have been reports claiming that a new batch of NES Classic Edition units might be released before Christmas or early next year.
Another interesting similarity between NES Classic Edition and FamiCom Mini is the fact that these two consoles come with pre-installed games. Buyers of the FamiCom Mini will be able to enjoy games such as "Final Fantasy III," "Mega Man 2", "Pac-Man," "Double Dragon II: The Revenge," "Ice Climber," "Dr. Mario," "Kirby's Adventure," "Mario Open Golf," "Makai Village", "The Legend of Zelda," "Super Mario Bros." and many more.
Moreover, if a gamer wants to play FamiCom Mini using a modern television set, the console has a USB port and it can also output video using the HDMI, which is similar to NES Classic Edition. Unfortunately, up until now, stocks of the FamiCom Mini in Japan remains limited.
Though these have been reports claiming that more FamiCom Mini will be released in 2017, it remains to be seen yet since Nintendo has not confirmed anything to date. So, fans of the NES Classic Edition and FamiCom Mini should take all these rumors with a grain of salt until these have been proven true and correct.
