A strange new alliance just formed: Pop princess Taylor Swift and former One Direction band member Zayn Malik recently joined forces for a brand-new song for the "Fifty Shades Darker" original soundtrack. Titled "I Don't Want to Live Forever," the song is now available on iTunes for $1.29. But more importantly, does this mean that the two have finally put things behind them?
'I Don't Want to Live Forever'
This week, the "Blank Space" singer Taylor Swift teased their collaboration on her Twitter page, which the "Pillowtalk" singer quickly backed up on his Instagram page. Even Gigi Hadid, Zayn Malik's girlfriend, shared that she already got her hands on the much talked-about song, according to E! Online.
If Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik may seem like an odd match, however, it's because they are. Back when Swift was still dating Calvin Harris, Zayn Malik, then just beginning his solo career after One Direction, blasted Taylor Swift for taking her music off Spotify. This happened after the 25-year-old singer performed with Zayn's ex, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. He even retweeted a message comparing Swift to Miley Cyrus, who didn't mind if she made money as long as her fans had access to her music, Hollywood Life reported.
Entangled lives
However, a collaboration would have been inevitable between two of the hottest names in the music industry right now. Swift and Malik's lives and careers are entangled, thanks to Harry Styles, Taylor's ex and Zayn Malik's old band mate, and Gigi Hadid, Taylor's best friend and Zayn's current girlfriend.
